First PhD finalized from SFI DigiWells: Ressi B. Muhammad

Congratulations to Ressi B. Muhammad who defended his thesis at University of Stavanger on Friday, January 10, 2025!

The title of the defended thesis is “A Probabilistic Reinforcement Learning Framework for Optimized Decision-Making in Geosteering”. Ressi had a 6 month long stay at Stanford University while working on his PhD. The opponents stated that this was a thesis of high quality, and it was a very interesting discusson between the opponents and Ressi. The supervisors were Reidar Bratvold from UiS and Sergey Alyaev from NORCE.

This is the first PhD candidate that has finalized from SFI DigiWell. Now it is only 13 to go!
