Three new positions available

One permanent Senior Researcher position and two Post Doc positions are now open with an application deadline of 15th of March for the permanent position and 13th of March for the two Post Doc positions.
1. Senior Researcher within drilling automation
The position will be linked to the research group Energy Modeling and Automation. This group has a world leading research environment in automated / autonomous drilling and has currently 21 researchers with a background in mathematics, physics, cybernetics, and software development. The group works closely with the industry and other research institutions, both nationally and internationally, and has a tradition of taking the research all the way to practical application. We have demonstrated autonomous drilling at our own full-scale rig in Stavanger. The group is hosting a center for research-based innovation, SFI DigiWells.
2. Post Doc in NLP and AI for Semantical Modeling of Drilling Environments
The main goal of the postdoc is to build and improve an artificial-intelligence solution for the automatic generation of a semantical model from existing data lakes. This task should include the management of possible inconsistencies in naming and data formats. Large language models are natural candidates for the development of the solution.
3. Post Doc in the Energy Modelling and Automation group within automated well construction planning and execution
The main objective of the postdoc is to investigate the connections between the automated planning and executions. The goal is to fill the existing gap between those two processes and find the proper way to deliver from the planning stage an execution policy that can be directly used by autonomous systems to perform the well construction tasks.
