Working Towards Standarization

DigiWells leverages D-WIS (Drilling and Wells Interoperability Standards) as a foundational framework to achieve interoperability, automation, and digitalization in drilling and well operations.

The D-WIS infrastructure facilitates different vendors to discover and share information automatically in real-time.  Such a system will give faster deployment of automated solutions as it can be installed seamlessly on any rig — realize the vision of  "Develop once, deploy anywhere."

Demo 1 running at AkerBP and using BTWN as a Drilling Control System (DCS), ADCS functions generated by NORCE and a downhole simulator provided by Pions, was held in April 2025. The focus was extended to include management of connection procedures such as pump startup, top-drive startup, friction test, reciprocation and others.
